Farmfoods European Senior Masters Tournament completed by Clarity Software Managing Director Richard Gamlin
Farmfoods European Senior Masters Tournament offers amateur golfers the opportunity to play with, partner and watch closely, some of the finest European Senior Tour golfing legends.
Clarity Software Managing Director and avid golfer Richard Gamlin entered the Farmfoods European Senior Masters event which recently took place at the Forest of Arden.
The event started with a Pro-Am on Thursday. 24 teams of 3 amateurs partnered a handpicked European Senior Tour professional for 18 holes on the Arden Championship Golf Course.
Richard partnered with US Masters champion and ex-world number 1 and Ryder Cup captain Ian Woosnam who is a legend in the sport. Ian ended up tied 4th in the competition.
The event was televised on Sky with around 5000 people watching the live play unfold around the course itself.
Following play, all amateurs and professionals were invited to the official Pro-Am dinner which included entertainment and a prize giving presentation held in the VIP marquee at the Forest of Arden. All players also received a limited edition players pack.
Richard commented;
“To play with such a golfing legend was an amazing experience. The 1st tee was very nerve racking as I have never played in front of a crowd. All your bad shots come flooding back to the front of mind as you stand there praying for a good connection.
Watching Woosy hit the ball was a real education, he offered some great help particularly on the greens where the pro’s are significantly better than us amateurs, and what a gent, a real pleasure to play with.”
